$22 for indoor tennis game
Organizers for the Community Indoor Tennis Center estimate it’s going to cost about $22 to rent a tennis court when the facility opens at Sanford Sports Complex.
Fundraising for the $3 million facility is underway, with about $735,000 raised so far. They’re hoping to open late 2013. The group is asking for $500,000 in city money. City Council will approve the 2013 budget Sept. 11.
During a recent working session, Councilor Greg Jamison said one of his biggest concerns is how much access the public will have to the tennis courts.
Community Indoor Tennis reps said people can pay to be members of the facility, but there will be courts open for non-members to play, too.
Certain benefits will come with being a member, but they’re not sure yet of all the details.
Cost is expected to be $22 per court - and it doesn’t matter if you’re playing with two people or 10, it’s still $22.
